There is a compelling argument for expanding broad-based employee ownership. The US and UK have the longest history with employee ownership programs operating under a specific legislative framework providing significant tax benefits. Research on these models in the two countries shows that employees, companies, and societies do much better than is the case for conventionally owned companies.
