Slovenia faces the challenge of business succession, pressure on productivity and the question of how to keep businesses, jobs and capital at home. International practice shows that employee co-ownership can be a pragmatic tool to address these issues, particularly in transferring ownership in SMEs, in preserving regional development cores and in the long-term stability of enterprises.
At the event, which will be hosted by representatives of Harvard Business School, we will discuss what the international experience from the USA, the UK, Canada and other European countries shows about this issue, and what opportunities for the development of employee co-ownership are offered by the Slovenian institutional framework. Particular emphasis will be placed on the question of how to develop this area as part of the contemporary development, entrepreneurship and ownership policy of Slovenia.
The event will include:
- Prof. Nien-he Hsieh, Harvard Business School
- Tony Guidotti, Harvard Business School
- Aleš Ugovšek, M-Sora
- Bojan Ivanc, Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry
- Prof. Aleksandra Kanjuo-Mrčela, Faculty of Social Sciences
